The physicians and staff at the Pain Management Center of Long Island (PMCLI) specialize in understanding each person’s condition and the range of approaches to its treatment. Our staff is uniquely qualified to deliver the most current, effective treatment methods to help patients achieve an acceptable level of relief and ultimately reclaim their lives.
All PMCLI physicians are board certified in anesthesiology and the pain management specialty. PMCLI clinicians and staff add another dimension to optimal patient care. Our licensed specialists are trained to address a wide range of physical symptoms and conditions. PMCLI also partners with Atlantic Anesthesiology to provide our patients with additional treatment resources.

Neil B. Kirschen, MD is Chief of Pain Management, Department of Anesthesiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York. Board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage Therapy, Dr. Kirschen has done extensive postgraduate training in osteopathic and manual medicine. He uses acupuncture, spinal manipulation, medical massage, craniosacral therapy, ligament reconstructive therapy, natural medicines and interventional anesthetic nerve blocks in his practice.
Robert Iadevaio, MD is an attending Anesthesiologist at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York. Dr. Iadevaio is board certified in Pain Management, Anesthesiology and Acupuncture. His practice of pain medicine includes interventional and pharmacological therapies for all chronic pain conditions, with special interest and training in cancer and neuropathic pain syndromes.
Steven M. Shoum, MD is an attending Anesthesiologist and was the Director of Anesthesiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York for 25 years. He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Medical Management, and Pain Medicine. Dr. Shoum is trained in radiofrequency thermocoagulation, cryoanalgesia, nucleoplasty, interventional nerve blocks and neuroaugmentation.
Michael Luvin, MD is an attending Anesthesiologist at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York. Dr. Luvin is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesia and Pain Management, and he is trained in interventional nerve blocks and pharmacologic management.
Jacob Rauchwerger, MD is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Rauchwerger completed his internship in surgery at North Shore University Hospital and his residency in anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Additionally, Dr. Rauchwerger completed a fellowship in pain medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Patricia Kirschen, L.Ac. is a Diplomat of Acupuncture and a practicing licensed acupuncturist who integrates traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese herbs and homeopathy to rebalance the body’s energy. Using esoteric healing therapies, Mrs. Kirschen can alleviate many common ailments and functional disorders.
